The lava bomb of Strohn

Die Lavabombe von Strohn in der Eifel ist nicht auf Anhieb jedem geläufig. Die außergewöhnlich große Kugel mit einem Durchmesser von 5 Metern und einem Gewicht von knapp 120 Tonnen kullerte offenbar 1969 im Rahmen einer Sprengung des nahegelegenen Steinbruchs aus der Abbruchwand.

Rocheville: Rock Town or City in the Mountain?

Rocheville44Near the village of Bricquebec in Normandy there is a small community of around 600 inhabitants called Rocheville - translated "Rock Town". She is proud of her small "ganggrab" in a nearby forest, the "Bois de la Grosse Roche".

Jahweh and the gloating putti

 

So far I had not known that the Jewish (desert demon?) (God?) Yahweh was granted the Catholic God absolution. No less surprised I was to discover the Hebrew stroke Yahweh in a Catholic church in Palermo.
